In addition to sealing purposes, can 12MM yellow ptfe tape be used for anti-slip or surface protection?

In addition to sealing purposes, 12MM yellow PTFE tape can also be used for anti-skid or surface protection in some specific scenarios, but its actual effect and scope of application are closely related to the material properties of the tape.

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) has a low friction coefficient, which makes it not have significant anti-slip effect on smooth surfaces. Therefore, yellow PTFE tape is not a material designed to be anti-slip in the traditional sense.

In high temperature environments, limited slip resistance is required between moving parts or sliding surfaces, for example as a temporary fixing gasket for mechanical parts.
It is used to reduce slippage on specific surfaces, but it needs to be used in conjunction with other anti-slip materials, such as PTFE tape as an accessory material and rubber anti-slip pads.

The PTFE material itself has a smooth surface and is not suitable for use in anti-slip scenarios that require high friction, such as pedals and handles.
If you need a professional anti-slip solution, it is recommended to choose anti-slip tape with a rough texture or a higher viscosity.

The chemical resistance and high temperature resistance of PTFE tape make it excellent in protecting surfaces, and is especially suitable for protecting sensitive areas on surfaces in special environments.

During welding, spraying or heat treatment, sensitive areas can be covered to avoid heat damage or material adhesion.
Use on mechanical contact surfaces to reduce wear and heat generation and extend equipment life.
Protect surfaces from damage in corrosive liquids or gases, such as laboratory instrument surfaces and pipe exterior wraps for industrial equipment.

Yellow PTFE tape has limited flexibility and tack and may not be suitable for long-term protection of surfaces that require strong adhesion.
Where full coverage or clear protection is required, it may be supplemented by other materials such as clear protective film.

Although 12MM yellow PTFE tape has limited applicability for anti-skid purposes, it can provide basic slip control in some special scenarios. In comparison, its performance in surface protection is better, especially in high temperature, corrosive environments or scenarios with high friction loss requirements, it can provide effective protection. Depending on specific needs, it can be selected as an auxiliary material for temporary anti-slip or surface protection, but for applications that require highly specialized requirements, it is recommended to be used in conjunction with other materials or tools.
